A quantitative test suite for codes used in Astrophysics

Welcome to our suite of numerical tests for codes used in Astrophysics!

This suite of numerical problems are designed to test hydrodynamics codes in situations that commonly occur in Astrophysical simulations. Each of the problems presented has an analytical or otherwise known solution, making it easy to access how well a code performs.

A quantitative discussion of these tests in conjunction with the results performed with four codes (Gadget2, Hydra, Enzo and Flash) is to be published in Tasker, Brunino, Mitchell, Michielsen, Hopton, Pearce, Bryan & Theuns, MNRAS, 2008.

Codes that complete the tests and wish to have their results added to this website should email the data files to tasker(at)astro.ufl.edu .

If you'd like to be kept informed when new results are added to this site, please join our mailing list by sending an email to listserv@lists.ufl.edu containing the sentence subscribe codecomparison-l firstname lastname
