Well, as you probably guessed already, my name is Evert Glebbeek. Unless you're using a text only browser you'll also be able to see what I look like at the moment. I am currently a postdoc in astrophysics at McMaster University in Hamilton, Canada. I am also a member of the Meta Institute for Computational Atsrophysics (MICA). Previously I was a PhD student at Utrecht University in the Netherlands. I did my undergraduate studies in theoretical physics in Amsterdam.

My main interest in astrophysics is in stellar structure and evolution, with an extension to binaries. Stellar equations of state have always been a bit of a side interest for me as well. Aside from astrophysics, my main interests in physics are in quantum field theory, general relativity and in particular thermodynamics, with its extensions in the form of non-equilibrium thermodynamics and hydrodynamics.

Apart from physics some of my other interests inlcude (Greek) mythology, languages, biology and a little philosophy now and then.

On an other note, I collect fossils and like boardgames. I play chess at a chessclub at least once a week. Oh, and I write (short) stories and do a little game programming.
