Log in to LON-CAPA at
loncapa.mcmaster.ca. Your username is your MACID, and
your initial password is your student number.
On your first visit, change your password:
Select Main Menu at the top left,
then Set User Preferences, and click on Password.
Your password is stored as an encrypted hash, and we can't recover it if you forget it. However, you can use the button on the login page to have your password reset, and sent to your McMaster e-mail account ("macid@mcmaster.ca").
To work on an assignment, select your course if necessary, then select Course Contents at the top of the page, and click on your assignment. Enter an answer, rounded to the correct number of significant digits, with correct units. If the answer is wrong, LON-CAPA will allow you more attempts, up to the maximum number shown with the question, with no deduction in marks. If units and/or significant digits are incorrect, it will tell you so, and it won't count as one of your tries.
