Workshop Programme
In order to create an intensive workshop atmosphere, the organizers have
decided to shorten the originally advertised length down to 6 days, Monday
May 30 through to noon, Saturday, June 4.
In the workshop programme listed below, the leadoff speaker on each day of
the programme is the designated "discussion leader" (L) for that
particular morning. It would be good for people on any morning to contact
these "discussion leaders" so that talks and discussion could be thought
about before the workshop begins.
The program listed below lists a set of speakers but we wish to emphasize
that all "talks" are to be seminar style and very informal. It is
expected that for a 45 minute "talk" - at least 1/2 the time will be
discussion/questions that are raised by both speaker and pariticpants.
The intent here is for the speaker to explore the interesting problems
that are related to the topic that they are discussing, and not to review
the latest results of their own work.
Each day has a suggested "theme" that covers at least several of the
"talks". This is meant to be quite flexible. All morning sessions begin
at 9:00 am. Coffee is at 10:30-11:00, and "talks" are scheduled to last
total of 45 min for presentation and discussion.
Afternoons are free for participants to work/collaborate/discuss. There
will be an afternoon coffee in Bourns building lounge at 3:30-4:00 each
afternoon.
There will be a workshop dinner on evening of Friday, June 3.
Saturday will feature a morning session which is meant to be a summing up
and open discussion of the major progress/ collaborative research /
directions for future development that have flowed from the workshop week.
